Men’s tennis loses four of five matches to Texas Lutheran

matt1The men’s tennis team narrowly lost to NCAA DIII Texas Lutheran University last Friday by the score of 4-5. The same result happened last year when the Saints had a 4-1 lead over the Bulldogs, but they were able to come back to beat OLLU.
No. 1 doubles Matt Ellis (JR/El Paso, Texas) and Tanis Martinez (SO/Carrizo Springs, Texas) beat their opponents Sanio Dizdarevic and Gunner Robison 8-5. OLLU’s Bernardo Pegas (FR/Bage, RS, Brazil) and Jacob Galaviz (FR/El Paso, Texas) were also able to beat TLU’s Kyle Thompson and Greg Nelson 8-6. Ellis also won his singles match against Dizdarevic 7-6 (7-3)/ 6-2, and Pegas beat Thompson 6-1/6-3. Read full article online.
