‘Stop the Bleed’ training sessions taking place on campus this week

OLLU is hosting “Stop the Bleed” sessions this week for members of the OLLU community. “Stop the Bleed” is a nationwide campaign aimed at teaching everyone how to stop bleeding and save lives in an emergency.

Even with the rapid arrival of professional emergency responders, bystanders will always be first on the scene. A person who is bleeding can die from blood loss within five minutes, so it is important to quickly stop the blood loss. Armed with a little knowledge, a family member, coworker or even a bystander can be the difference between life and death. University Health System will be on campus providing training on steps to take in emergency situations.

All training sessions will take place in UWAC, Room 104. The session days and times are as follows:

Tuesday – 10 a.m.

Tuesday – 12:30 p.m.

Wednesday – 10 a.m.

Wednesday – 12:30 p.m.

Each session is limited to 25 people per class. To reserve a space, call 210-431-3919 or email healthservices@ollusa.edu.
