The Worden Social Work Organization is hosting the 2017 Hunger Banquet, Nov. 16 at 6 p.m. in Chapel Auditorium.
This impactful, experiential simulation raises consciousness about hunger. According to OXFAM, an international hunger relief organization, “At any given moment, there are 795 million people in the world suffering from hunger and every day almost 8,500 children under five years old die from preventable malnutrition-related causes.”
The keynote speaker will be Eric Cooper, executive director and CEO of the San Antonio Food Bank.
Those who wish to attend are asked to fast all day on the day of the banquet.
