The purpose of the President’s Volunteer Service Award, a White House Initiative, is to motivate Americans to reach out to their community and dedicate their time to transforming society into a more stable environment.
The honor is awarded to those who have completed at least 100 hours of service within a year. The award is given at the bronze, silver and gold levels. The bronze medal is awarded to those who completed 100-174 hours, the silver medal is awarded to those who completed at least 175 hours and the gold medal is awarded to those who completed 250 hours or more.
