Dr. Gergen named to SAPD Internal Affairs review board

Esther Gergen, PhD, associate professor of leadership studies and chair of the leadership studies department, has been appointed to the Compliant Administrative Review Board of the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) Internal Affairs Division.

The board is an administrative advisory board made of seven uniformed seats (officers, detectives and captains) and seven civilian community representatives. The board reviews cases where officers face allegations brought by either SAPD administration or civilian constituents. The board reports to SAPD Chief William McManus and provides him with recommendations on cases reviewed that assist him in making administrative action decisions.
