Congratulations to OLLU-RGV BSW student Stephanie Garcia for receiving the Andrew Marks Advocacy Award for 2022.
Garcia’s advocacy work includes a wide breadth of awareness events surrounding support for immigrants and DACA students. In her role as Worden Social Work Organization (WSWO) President, she has been the driving force behind reviving student involvement, both on campus and online, in WSWO involvement and taking the lead on organizing the WSWO Human Trafficking series, along with so many unique events.
Garcia’s award was presented virtually during SWAD (Social Work Advocacy Day at the Capitol).
