“African American History and Education” will take place today from 4-5 p.m. in the Library Community Room. The discussion will feature experts and panelists:
- Antoinette Winstead, OLLU Professor of Drama and Mass Communications; she is the Director of the Rubén M. and Verónica-Salazar Escobedo School of Mass Communications and Theater and Drama Program Head
- Dr. Lawrence Scott, an Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership at Texas A&M University-San Antonio, where his research specialty is school and community relations, multicultural practices in educational leadership and curriculum development
The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Valerie A. Martínez, OLLU History Program Head.
In celebration of Black History 365 days a year, the Center for Mexican American Studies and Research and the Departments of Humanities and Social Sciences and English, Mass Communication, and Drama have collaborated to sponsor this event.
All are invited to join this discussion on the importance of an inclusive approach to education that is representative of our diverse communities and experiences.
