Aziza Clark of Our Lady of the Lake (OLLU) women’s outdoor track and field team has been named the South Central Region women’s track athlete of the year as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Friday.
Clark, a San Antonio native is currently ranked seventh nationally in the 400-meter hurdles, setting a personal best of 1:00.98. She was the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Champion in the event. Clark is set to compete in the upcoming NAIA Outdoor Championships next week in the 400m hurdles as well as the 4×400-meter relay.
Award winners are determined by a vote of USTFCCA member coaches at the conclusion of the regular season.
