The Texas Campus Carry law goes into effect today. The OLLU Board of Trustees voted earlier this year to “opt out” of allowing persons holding concealed handgun licenses (CHL) to carry firearms on the San Antonio campus. This includes licensed individuals who, under the new law that went into effect on Jan. 1, 2016, are allowed to openly carry a handgun.
As required by state law, signs have been placed throughout the San Antonio campus to notify everyone of the policy.
