The Services to Students with Disabilities (SSD) office is recruiting students to participate in Project 31. Project 31 is a two-year research study that will investigate the gap between students with disabilities and their peers who do not have disabilities.
The study seeks to improve the retention and graduation rates of students with disabilities, expand access to digital content for students with disabilities and develop new innovative solutions.
The study is sponsored by Georgia Institute of Technology’s Center for Accessible Materials Innovation (CAMI), which is funded through a first-ever grant from the U.S. Department of Education.
OLLU students are eligible to participate if they meet the following requirements:
- Identify as an ethnic and/or racial minority
- Are currently enrolled as a freshman or sophomore at OLLU
- Have a condition—blindness, visual impairment, acquired brain injury, a learning disability, ADHD, or a physical disability—that may qualify them for electronic textbooks in accessible formats
Students who participate will receive free accessible eBook reader software, up to 10 digital textbooks per semester or quarter and up to $375.
Students who are interested should visit the SSD office in the Sueltenfuss Library, Room 125, or contact the office at 210-431-4010.
