Learn tips on working with learning differences in the classroom

Dr. Kristin O’Donnell, assistant professor of psychology, and Ashly Vargas, graduate student and president of Delta Alpha Pi International Honor Society, are hosting the presentation, “Working with Learning Differences in the College Classroom: From a Student to Professor Perspective,” Wednesday, at 12:30 p.m. in Providence Hall, West Social Room. Their discussion will highlight the following topics:

  • How to approach a student if you have questions on academic adjustments and disability accommodations
  • Helping students help themselves – developing advocacy skills for transition students
  • Brief overview of adapting teaching strategies to achieve universal design for students with varying types of disabilities and learning styles
  • Resources on campus

The discussion will be facilitated by OLLU ADA Coordinator, Nicole Monsibais, JD.

This event is a sponsored by Delta Alpha Pi International Honor Society, Services to Students with Disabilities Office, the Provost’s Diversity and Inclusion Council, and the ADA Compliance Council.
