Sister RoseAnn H. Castilleja, M.C.M., a social work student, has been named “President for a Day 2021” for raising the most money — $4,000 — during her weeklong campaign.
Candidates participating in the “President for a Day” challenge raised $5,280, money that will go back to undergraduates in the form of scholarships and/or emergency aid.
Sister Castilleja is a senior and a Missionary Cordi-Marian Sister, who will represent OLLU President Diane E. Melby, EdD, at the university’s Strategic Planning Meeting and will attend other meetings with members of the President’s council. Sister Castilleja also serves as president of the Worden Social Work Organization.
The “President for a Day” challenge was brought back in honor of OLLU’s 125th anniversary. The first challenge originated in 2002 as a student fundraiser. Hector Garza, a Sigma Theta Epsilon Men’s Christian Fellowship fraternity member, won the last challenge in 2007.
