OLLU Students Named 2026–27 Valero Alamo Bowl Scholarship Recipients

Nineteen Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) students have been selected as Valero Alamo Bowl Scholarship recipients for the 2026–2027 academic year, recognizing their academic achievements and supporting their continued success at OLLU.

The scholarship recipients represent a diverse range of academic programs across the University, including psychology, biology, kinesiology, communication sciences and disorders, social work, business, mathematics and art. Of the 19 recipients, 15 are seniors and four are juniors.

In addition to receiving the scholarship, students were given an opportunity to attend the PNC Pigskin Preview Luncheon on Wednesday, Aug. 26, at the Alamodome. The annual event celebrates the accomplishments of scholarship recipients and marks the beginning of the college football season.

Seven OLLU students attended this year’s luncheon: (in no particular order) Ava Caballero, Aylin Escajeda Ayala, Benjamin Espinosa, Brittany Garza, Marisol Romero, Zariah Todd and Joshua Veliz.

The luncheon provided students with an opportunity to celebrate alongside fellow scholarship recipients while connecting with community and sports leaders as the 2026 college football season gets underway.

Congratulations to all of OLLU’s Valero Alamo Bowl Scholarship recipients on this well-deserved recognition!
