2016 Founder’s Week begins today

The Division of Mission and Ministry invites the OLLU community to 2016 Founder’s Week. Founder’s Week celebrates the heritage of OLLU’s founders, the Sisters of Divine Providence.

Tuesday
Journey to Mictlan – 6-8 p.m. – Chapel Auditorium
An event presented by Kalpulli Ameyaltonal Tejaztlan on the pre-Hispanic roots of Dia de Los Muertos!

Sponsored by Theology and Spiritual Action, the Center for Mexican American Studies and Research, and University Ministry.

Wednesday
Dia de Los Muertos service – 12:25 p.m. – Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto
In the tradition of a popular religious ritual, the OLLU community is called to honor and respect all of our dearly departed. The ceremony will begin at the Grotto, followed by a procession to the CDP Cemetery.

Thursday
Father Moye’s Project – 5 p.m. – 24th Street Theater
See a brief history of Father John Martin Moye’s Project and the Sisters of Divine Providence, who kept his legacy alive. Come experience the impact the CDP’s dedication and hard work has had on the lives of many, who have benefitted from his providential vision to educate young girls who would not have otherwise received an education.

A reception will follow the performance. Space is limited. RSVP to Roxanna Chavez at rchavez@ollusa.edu.
