OLLU celebrates Dia de los Muertos

The OLLU community is invited to celebrate Dia de los Muertos with a series of events hosted by the Religious Studies and Theology department, Art department, Center for Women in Church and Society, Center for Mexican American Studies and Research, HALO, and University Ministry.

The schedule is as follows:

  • Wednesday – From Sugar Skulls to Kopal: Iconography and Signification of Dia de los Muertos – 5 p.m. – Library Community Room – This event is a visual, educational, and musical journey through the iconography and signification of Dia de los Muertos.
  • Thursday – Make your own Altarcito – 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. – Elliott House – students, staff and faculty are invited to come and make a mini altar in remembrance of those who have passed and celebrate their lives.
  • Friday – Dia de los Muertos Celebration and Procession – 12:15 p.m. – Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto
  • Sunday – All Souls Day Mass of Remembrance – 7 p.m. – Sacred Heart Chapel
