Día de los Muertos events begin Tuesday
Día de Los Muertos is a celebration of life, death and remembrance. To mark this occasion, University Ministry, the Center for Mexican American Studies and Research (CMASR) and the International Folk Culture Center (IFCC) have come together to hold a series of events throughout the week.
Events include an outing—with free tickets for students—to the San Antonio Botanical Gardens for the Frida Kahlo Oasis exhibit, a paper flower-making workshop, facemask decoration with free hot chocolate and tamales and a Day of the Dead luncheon at the CDP Cemetery on campus.
For information on all events, visit the Día de los Muertos page at https://bit.ly/DayoftheDead-at-OLLU.
OLLU family members wishing to honor loved ones with a candle on the altar at the annual Grotto Ceremony on Nov. 2 may either attend in person or submit names of their loved ones online at the link found on the above website. The names will also be a part of the Grotto Ceremony’s live-stream, broadcast on the University Ministry’s Facebook page (@ollu.ministry).
