After starting the Southwestern University’s (SW) Halloween Invitational fairly easy Friday with a 3-0 win over Austin College, the volleyball team didn’t do so well to close out the tournament. The Saints lost the opening game on Saturday against Southwestern University 3-1 and later in the day, they lost to Texas Lutheran University (TLU) 3-1. The Saints move to 16-11 on the season, while Southwestern improves to 25-8 and Texas Lutheran to 19-13. The Saints are 10-2 in the Red River Athletic Conference and have qualified for the conference tournament that takes place Nov. 14-15 in Brownsville. Read full story online.

Women’s soccer loses first conference match
The women’s soccer team suffered its first loss of the season in the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) against Huston-Tillotson University (HTU) by a final score of 2-0. With the result, the Saints move to 10-7 overall and 7-1 in the RRAC. The Rams improved to 9-7-2 on the season and 7-2 in the RRAC. The Saints will play their pending conference game against Wiley College on Tuesday, Nov. 4. The time and location for the match is yet to be determined. Read full story online.
OLLU to host 2014 Saints Golf Classic on Nov. 6
OLLU is sponsoring the Saints Golf Classic benefitting the OLLU Athletic Fund on Thursday, Nov. 6. The tournament, which will take place at the Republic Golf Course in San Antonio’s Southside, is part of the University’s annual Alumni Weekend festivities that run through Saturday, Nov. 8. Republic Services of San Antonio has generously offered the title sponsorship for the golf tournament. Price to play is $125 per player or $500 per team of four. OLLU to hold cheer and dance clinic for children, ages 6-14
The Saints Cheer and Blue Stars Dance Teams will hold the “Lil’ Saints Cheer and Dance Clinic” on Dec. 6 for children, ages 6-14 years old.
