Human Resources to provide training on Family and Medical Leave Act

The Human Resources Office will be providing training on the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) for faculty and staff.

Topics covered during the trainings include:

  • About FMLA
  • Employee eligibility for FMLA
  • What eligible employees are entitled to under FMLA
  • Requirements to request FMLA leave
  • Employee responsibilities for FMLA leave
  • Supervisor responsibilities under FMLA
  • Who is authorized to contact the employees’ primary care physician?
  • Pay and FMLA
  • Employee’s return-to-work options under the FMLA
  • OLLU’s Extended Leave of Absence Policy
  • Employer actions prohibited by FMLA

Training sessions will be held the following dates and times:

  • Tuesday, Nov. 17 – 9-10 a.m. – Main Building, Room 311
  • Wednesday, Nov. 18 – 12-1 p.m. – Main Building, Room 211
  • Thursday, Nov. 19 – 3-4 p.m. – Library Community Room
