Criminology major wins Assistance League scholarship

Julio E. Betancourt, Jr., a Criminology and Criminal Justice major, has been awarded a $3,000 Assistance League of San Antonio Scholarship.

Betancourt is a transfer student with aspirations for law school. He has two sons, ages 9 and 10, who aspire to become OLLU Saints.

The Assistance League is a local nonprofit that strives to transform individuals through various programs.

Betancourt offered special thanks to Esmeralda Flores, OLLU Director of Financial Aid, for her assistance with the scholarship.

“Thank you for the opportunity to apply for the scholarship; this will be a massive help as I prepare for my final two semesters here at OLLU and for the LSAT to get into law school,” Betancourt said to Flores. “My experience at OLLU has been amazing and I am blessed with every one of you. I have visited the campus several times this semester and have brought both my sons, who are 9 and 10. They can’t wait to graduate from high school and become OLLU Saints like me.”
