The OLLU men’s tennis team landed in the No. 20 spot of the 2023 NAIA Men’s Tennis Coaches’ Preseason Top 25 Poll that was released last Wednesday. This is the highest ranking the Saints have received in team history.
The Saints received votes in the 2011 season, and in 2012, they were ranked No. 21, No. 24 and No. 25. In 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2017 they received votes. Last season, the men were ranked No. 23 and finished the year ranked No. 24.
Head Coach Dave Watts said, “I’m happy that the team is getting a little bit of recognition for the strength of the program. However, I’m not super interested in preseason rankings. We still need to go out and prove we are a top 20 team. This is just the beginning, and we have a lot of work to do. “
