Congratulations to Laurynn Cano (BA 2022)! Herman Hirsch Elementary School in the San Antonio Independent School District (SAISD) has named her a “Rising Star” in 2023-2024.
The award recognizes outstanding new teachers in SAISD.
Cano was a Raise Your Hand Texas (RYHT) Scholar at OLLU in 2021-2022. She also competed on the cheer team.
Savannah Cassiano from the OLLU volleyball and track and field teams was inducted into the Harris Middle School Athletic Hall of Fame last week. Harris is part of the San Antonio Independent School District (SAISD).
Cassiano commented, “Winning this award was surreal for me – I couldn’t believe it. I am very thankful and very blessed. I finally felt like all my hard work has paid off.”
Cassiano attended Harris from 2012-2014 and was a five-sport (volleyball, basketball, track, cross-country and soccer) athlete in seventh and eighth grade. She broke 10 school records in the 4x100m relay, the 400m dash and the 4x400m relay.
