Victoria Vazquez earned a share of the Red River Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week award for Sept. 2-9. Vazquez, a senior midfielder from Helotes, Texas, compiled two goals and three assists in a 1-0-1 week for the Lady Saints. She scored one goal to help OLLU claim a 2-2 tie against St. Mary’s University before playing a part in four goals in an 8-1 trouncing of Schreiner University (Texas). Robert Alexe was recognized with the Red River Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week award for Sept. 2-8. Alexe, a junior forward from Chicago, booted in a pair of goals and assisted on another as the Saints won their only game of the week, 7-1, over Schreiner University. Alexe got the scoring started with a goal and assisted on OLLU’s second goal to establish a 2-1 lead. The Saints extended the lead from there and climbed to 3-0 on the season.
