The women’s basketball team defeated the University of the Southwest 90-76 on Thursday evening. The win moves the Saints to 9-1 in the Red River Athletic Conference and 18-2 overall, while Southwest drops to 1-11 in conference and 3-14 overall. The Saints are tied for first place with Wiley College (9-1/19-2) and are one game ahead of LSU-Shreveport (8-2/15-5). The Saints remained No. 10 in this week’s NAIA Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, while Wiley stayed at No. 12. LSU-Shreveport improved to No. 24 after debuting last week at No. 25.
