The women’s basketball team lost in the semifinals round of the Red River Athletic Conference to Huston-Tillotson University 58-70. The Saints will begin preparing for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) DI Women’s Basketball National Championship Tournament that takes place March 19-25 in Frankfort, Ky. Because the Saints were the No. 1 seed in the regular season, they earned an automatic bid to the tournament. Head Coach Christopher Minner said, “We have to give credit to HTU for playing a great game. They played with high energy and passion. We just didn’t play with great effort. Hopefully we will play better in Kentucky.” The NAIA will announce the 32-team pairings for the NAIA Division I women’s tournament on March 12 at 7 p.m. The video will appear on NAIA.org roughly five minutes prior to the start of the show.
