The women’s basketball team staged a valiant effort after trailing by 14 to come within three with 28 seconds left on the clock, but Loyola University New Orleans stayed the course to pull out the 72-67 win to advance to the Elite Eight of the NAIA Women’s Basketball National Championship Tournament. OLLU was eliminated in the second round after winning its first-ever NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball national championship game this year.
