Katrisha Arocha named to NAIA Softball All-America Honorable Mention Team

2014KatrichaArocha-3The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the 2014 Softball All-America teams, selected by the NAIA All-America committee. The All-America teams are comprised of First Team, Second Team and Honorable Mention selections. Our Lady of the Lake University’s Katrisha Arocha is a Honorable Mention selectee, marking the first time in history that a Saints’ softball player has been chosen as a member of the All-America Team. Arocha, a junior pitcher from San Antonio, was selected as the Red River Athletic Conference’s Newcomer of the Year and Pitcher of the Year and was selected to the All-Conference First Team. She is ranked the top 10 in the NAIA in wins (26), total batters struck out (244) and in opponent batting average (.181); in the top 20 in batters struck out per 9 innings (8.94), hits allowed per 9 innings (4.58), total innings pitched (191.000) and in ERA (1.540). She led the conference in ERA, opponent batting average, innings pitched, batters struck out/game, hits allowed/game, runs allowed/game (55/1.41), earned runs allowed (42), wins and saves.
