Jazmine Garcia earned selection as the Red River Athletic Conference Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for Sept. 1-7. This is her second consecutive women’s runner of the week award over the same dates. These are the second set of awards of the 2014 season. Garcia, a freshman from Zapata, Texas, took first at the Bill Libby Invite, claiming a victory in only the second meet of her college career. With a time of 19:21 in the 5K distance, Garcia defeated a field of 35 runners from the NAIA, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NJCAA. Her time established a new OLLU individual record.
