Volleyball wins exciting match over Langston

Volleyball9-22-1OLLU and Langston University (LU) staged an exciting game on Saturday before a packed Mabee Gymnasium – and the Saints came out on top winning 3-1. The win moves the Saints to 5-3 overall and 2-0 in the Red River Athletic Conference, while Langston drops to 4-9. BASICS: The Saints, who average eight service errors a game, committed 11, while Langston committed five, well below its average of eight a game.  In the first set, the Saints never relinquished their lead; however in the second set, the Saints led twice by as much as nine, while Langston led once by one point. In the third game, Langston led twice, by as much as five, and OLLU led once by three points. In the final set, OLLU led twice, and Langston led once. UPCOMING MATCHES: The Saints will face conference rival University of Texas at Brownsville – the NAIA’s No. 2 ranked team on Sept. 23 at 7 p.m.  Go online for full story.
