Baseball volunteers for ‘Feed My Starving Children’ project

Baseball10-6-2Recently, the Saints baseball team members traded their ball caps for hair nets to participate in a special event. Head Coach Freddy Rodriguez cancelled his team’s intrasquad game so the team could volunteer in the community. The Saints volunteered at the University United Methodist Church for Feed My Starving Children (FMSC). FMSC is a non-profit Christian organization that aids in feeding malnourished children throughout 70 countries. Its main objective is to eliminate starvation throughout the world and to enlighten those who may be able to lend aid. FMSC came to San Antonio with one goal in mind: pack four million meals. With a little help from the Saints, this goal became a reality. Volunteers were able to pack 4,035,575 meals, with 1,512 of those meals coming from the Saints.
