The OLLU Board of Trustees made the following decisions during the Jan. 29 meeting:
Faculty promotions and tenure:
- Leda Barnett, PhD – promotion to associate professor – political science
- Yvette Benavides, MA, MFA – promotion to professor – English
- Esther Gergen, PhD – awarded tenure and promotion to associate professor – leadership studies
- Evangeline Nwokah, PhD – promotion to professor – communication disorders
- Bernadette Solorzano, PhD – awarded tenure – psychology
- Kathryn Winney, CPA – awarded tenure and promotion to associate professor – accounting
Tuition increases and new fees
The Board also approved a six percent increase for undergraduate tuition, weekend programs, and master’s tuition. A three percent increase for doctoral tuition was also approved.
There will be an increase in the price of the following residence halls:
- Double room – Pacelli, Ayres Halls – increase of $200
- Double room – St. Ann’s Hall – increase of $200
- Double room – Flores Hall – increase of $31
- Triple room – Centennial Hall – increase of $71
All meal plan prices will be increased by $25.
There is also a new Library Fee for students:
- Students enrolled in six or more credit hours – $60
- Students enrolled in five or less credit hours – $30
