Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) began its inaugural season of track and field with an impressive showing at the Trinity University Open on Saturday. Junior Steven Tomlin won the Men’s Triple Jump, marking the school’s first-ever track event participation and first-ever win. Tomlin jumped 13.51 (1.3) meters to win the slate of six competitors from the University of the Incarnate Word, Trinity and the University of Dallas. Freshman Gabriela Guerrero won the Women’s 1500 Meter Run with a time of 5:03.01, and freshman Jazmine Garza won her event — the Women’s 5000 Meter Run — with a time of 19:16.44.
