The men’s tennis team defeated Southwestern Christian University from Bethany, Oklahoma 8-1. The team’s only loss was a nail biter from OLLU’s AJ Gallardo and Zahry Edmond against Alex Eakers and Zackrey Owen. The Saints put up a valiant effort but dropped the doubles match 7-5. Senior Matt Ellis overpowered his opponent Jose Nino 6-2 in the first set. The two battled in the second set, but Ellis earned the 7-6 (4) win. Tanis Martinez was the only Saint to not allow any points from the opponent. He defeated Alex Eakers 6-0/6-0. The Saints move to 8-4 on the season. Read full article on men here.
