OLLU prepares to confer degrees for spring 2015 graduates on Thursday

OLLU is preparing to confer degrees to more than 350 graduates during Commencement ceremonies on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Joe and Harry Freeman Coliseum. Dr. Maria “Cuca” Robledo Montecel, OLLU alumna and president and CEO of the Intercultural Development Research Association (IDRA), will serve as commencement speaker.

Graduation celebrations begin Thursday morning with Ring Blessing and Graduation Liturgy.

The following is the schedule of events:

Ring Blessing – 10 a.m. – Sacred Heart Chapel
Students will have the opportunity to have their graduation rings individually blessed

Reception – 10:30 a.m. – St. Ann’s Courtyard
Graduates and their guests are invited to a reception following the Ring Blessing.

Graduation Liturgy – noon – Sacred Heart Chapel
Graduating students and their families and friends are invited to celebrate Mass. Regalia is required.

Volunteers needed to assist in making bouquets for Commencement

The Development Office is looking for volunteers to prepare flower bouquets to sell at OLLU Commencement on Thursday. Preparation will begin at 10 a.m. and will run until 4 p.m. or until the bouquets are completed. Flowers will be on sale during commencement. Prices range from $5-$30.

OLLU charms will also be on sale for $50.

All proceeds will support the Lake Fund and student scholarships.
