OLLU faculty and staff are invited to participate in a service project as part of “OLLU Employee Service Day,” Friday, Oct. 23, from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Unicorn Centers, Inc. Those who wish to participate should sign up by Oct. 15.
The Unicorn Centers, Inc., is part of Mission Road Ministries’ family of agencies that serve individuals with special needs. The center offers a variety of services for its adult clients, with heavy concentration on supported off-site employment and supervised on-site employment opportunities.
During the fall service day, volunteers will assist with Oktoberfest, an annual day for about 300 clients. Volunteers will help with some of the following tasks:
- Running games and activities
- Preparing and serving lunch
- Dancing and having fun with other participants
- Setting up and cleaning up
Most activities are indoors and light in nature; a few lighter tasks will be available for those who require sitting for longer periods.
