Students and faculty from the psychology department attended the “2nd International Capturing the Moment Symposium on Single Session Therapy and Walk-in Services” in Banff, Alberta, Canada on Sept. 29-30.
The following doctoral students presented during the symposium:
- Brittany Houston – “Welcome to our Single Session Home”
- Chrystal Fullen – “Translating Postmodern Approaches in a Medical Setting”
- Ashlee Martinez, Lacey Moffat and Jeanette Santos – “3600 Seconds to Success”
- Wade Petree – “SST and Grief: Gone but not Forgotten”
- Sylvia Rapini (presented by Adrianna Wilkerson-Gil) – “Bilingual Single Sessions with a Reflecting Team”
Arnie Slive, PhD, visiting professor of psychology and Monte Bobele, PhD, ABPP, professor of psychology, gave the keynote address, “The Three Top Reasons Why Walk-in Sessions Make Perfect Sense,” during conference.
Dr. Slive and Dr. Bobele joined Moshe Talmon (from Israel) and Janet Stewart (from Canada) for a panel presentation, “From Walk-in to Click-in: A Solution or an Illusion?” Dr. Slive was also on the conference organizing committee and gave the opening welcome speech.
