Día de los Muertos events start today, continue through Nov. 2

Dia de los MuertosStudents, faculty and staff are invited to make Altarcitos today in Elliott House as the University kicks off a week of events to mark Día de los Muertos.
Events include:

  • Make Your Own Altarcito
    Today until 4 p.m.
    Elliott House
  • Film: “Una Opera Muerta: A Dead Opera in Four Animated Acts”
    Wednesday, 6-7 p.m.
    Main Building, Room 311
  • Solemnity of All Saints Day Mass
    Sunday, 7 p.m.
    Sacred Heart Chapel
  • Día de los Muertos Celebration and Procession
    Nov. 2, 12:30 p.m.
    Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto
  • All Souls Mass of Remembrance
    Nov. 2, 7 p.m.
    Castillo Mission Funeral Home, 520 N. General McMullen Dr.

Events are presented by the Center for Mexican American Studies and Research, University Ministry, Center for Women in Church and Society, Sueltenfuss Library, and the following academic programs: Theology and Spiritual Action, Comparative Mexican American Studies, Biliterate Education and Leadership Studies.
