Three recent graduates won Lone Star Emmys Saturday evening. Angélica Casas (BA Mass Communication, Spanish ’15) and Gianna Rendon (’15) won in the News: General Assignment category for their story “Evicted for the Wealthy.”
Casas also won in the News — General Assignment — Light News category for her story “Faithfull Friend.”
David Romo (BA Broadcast Journalism ’13), producer for Univision 41, won along with four of his colleagues in the “Best Newscast in a Medium Market” category for their coverage of a Texas rainstorm and deadly tornado that struck Ciudad Acuña, Mexico.
