Soccer’s Jared Poling, Ericka Thompson and Teegan Luckemeyer named CoSIDA Academic All-District

Soccer_AcademicAllDistrict10-29-15Jared Poling, Erika Thompson and Teegan Luckemeyer have been named to the Academic All-District Soccer Teams, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The program recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution. Nominated athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team’s games at their positions. No student-athlete is eligible until he/she has completed one full calendar year at his/her current institution and has reached sophomore athletic eligibility. Read full article online.

Men’s soccer suffers third straight conference loss

MensSoccer_10-10-15The men’s soccer team was defeated 1-0 by the University of Houston-Victoria (UHV) in overtime Saturday afternoon at The Cage. The Saints failed to capitalize on the opportunities they created and were downed by a golden goal in the first overtime period. Women’s soccer clinch first round bye in RRAC Tournament with win over Houston-Victoria


WomensSoccer_10-10-15The women’s soccer team defeated the University of Houston-Victoria (UHV) 2-1 in a Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) match at The Cage Saturday afternoon. The result guarantees the Saints a spot in the semifinals round of the conference tournament. Head Coach Arthur Salazar said, “The energy and work rate was good today.
