The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) track and field teams participated in the Trinity Tiger Invitational on Friday.
Head Coach Stephen Sherman said, “This was the first meet we have been close to full strength so it was a lot of fun to see most of our pieces out there. We still had some athletes out of their optimal events for various reasons, but overall we did not look bad at all. I am excited about UIW next week and definitely excited for the RRAC meet here in three weeks.” Read more.
Standouts in the meet included a second-place finish and a new school record for Elena Oslund (JR/Hendersonville, N.C.) in the 1500m run and a second-place finish for Jazmine Garcia (SO/San Ygnacio, Texas) (pictured at right) in the 5000m run. Also, Alex Sandley placed third in the high jump, and Marquis Martinez set new school records in the 100m and 200m.
