Spring Employee Service Day benefits Congregation of Divine Providence

Approximately 40 faculty and staff participated in the Spring Employee Service Day assisting the Sisters of the Congregation of Divine Providence (CDP). Employees cleaned Sacred Heart Chapel and Regan Hall dining and community rooms. In addition, employees cleaned and checked the Sister’s cars, cleaned wheelchairs, categorized library books, and assisted with crafts projects. Employees also visited with Sisters in the McCullough Hall Nursing Center.

“The Sisters of Divine Providence greatly appreciate the OLLU faculty and staff volunteers who came to serve them on May 16 at Our Lady of the Lake Convent Center,” said Glenda Moody, director of human resources for the Congregation.  “The Sisters would like to thank all the volunteers and the University for allowing this wonderful experience and for their outpouring of love.”

OLLU sponsors an Employee Service Day in the spring and fall benefitting a nonprofit agency or group. Employees can take part in the service day without having to use leave time. This is the first time Service Day benefitted the CDPs, the University’s founders.
