
Students, faculty and staff gathered last Friday for the annual Spirit Day Mass of the Holy Spirit in the Sacred Heart Chapel. Spirit Day is part of OLLU Pride Week and this year’s observance is notable for its celebration of the 10th anniversary of the University’s athletics program. The beautiful vaulted ceilings and towering spires that extend toward the heavens are iconic symbols of the University. But amid the Italian marble altars and German stained glass windows, the school celebrated its true pillars—the people. Our Lady of the Lake University honored 37 people whose tenure with the school range from 10 years to 30. Among those 37 are four staff members whose beginnings with the University coincide and intertwine with the athletics program: Men’s Soccer Head Coach Shane Hurley, Sports Information Director Patricia Constantin, University Events Manager Elizabeth Longoria and Associate Director of Financial Aid Marsha Eldridge.
