OLLU hosting ‘La Cosecha’ public history symposium Friday

OLLU is hosting “La Cosecha: Legacies of Farmworkers in Movements for Social Change in Tejas,” Friday, Oct. 21, beginning at 9 a.m. in Providence Hall, West Social Room. This one-day, public history symposium serves to revisit, celebrate and commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1966 farmworkers march from the Rio Grande Valley to Austin.

The symposium will feature a “Living Legacies” panel, which will include original organizers, strikers and marchers. The day also will include scholarly presentations, poetry and musical performances.
