The women’s basketball team opened its season on Nov. 3 with a 93-41 win over NCAA Division II school, the Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) Dustdevils. Playing on the road, the Saints turned TAMIU’s friendly confines into a house of horrors for the Dustdevils. The Saints’ defense extended the length of the court, sending two defenders at the ball while rotating to any and all preferable outlets ahead of the pass. Under constant duress, the Dustdevils repeatedly coughed up the ball, with the Saints pilfering more than 25 steals. On Nov. 6, the team played an exhibition game against NCAA Division I Sam Houston State University Bearkats and won 85-68.
