The OLLU softball team opened its regular season by participating in its fifth NAIA College Cowtown Classic. This year, the Saints won two of five games, including one against NAIA powerhouse Oklahoma Wesleyan University. The Saints lost the opening game on Feb. 10 to Bacone College 2-6 and overpowered York College 21-8. They closed out the first day of the classic with 7-8 loss to Sterling College. On Feb. 11, the Saints dropped the first game to Bellevue University, 5-8. They came back to defeat Oklahoma Wesleyan University, which received 29 points in the NAIA Softball Coaches’ Top 25 Preseason poll, 5-4. www.ollusaintsathletics.com.
