Track and field teams excel at Trinity

The track and field teams had a successful meet at the Trinity Invitational hosted by Trinity University. The Saints featured two first-place winners – Elena Oslund and Nathaniel Aguilar. Oslund topped the leader board in the 10,000m with a school record of 38:29.56. That time was just off qualifying her for the NAIA National Track and Field Meet. Aguilar bested runners from Southwestern University, Texas Lutheran University and Trinity in the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 10:20.34. Second place winners for the Saints included: Aundrea Culliver in the 400m with a time of 59.53; Sarah Taylor in the 5,000m with a time of 19:57.10; 4×400 relay with Jennifer Ramirez, Culliver, Shenaya Thomas and Samantha Millan. Third-place Saints were: Derek Barnett, 5,000m, 15:59.81; Alex Sattley, high jump, 1.88m and in the triple jump, 13.53m; and Lena Wilson, 100m hurdles, 15.46. Wilson came in fourth place in the high jump and recorded the Red River Athletic Conference’s highest jump this season at 1.55m. Ricky Ramos also placed fourth in the 400m with a time of 50.57. Krystal Ochulo was sixth in the shot put with a distance of 11.00m. Culliver came in seventh in the long jump with a distance of 5.19m.
