Athletic Director Jack Hank has announced the hiring of Bryan Aughney as the new head baseball coach. Aughney began his position in June taking over for Jeremy Flores, who was interim head coach for the 2017 season. Flores will resume duties as assistant coach, and the two will lead the Saints, which in four seasons has tallied a 78-84-1 record and 46-38 in the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC). They will begin their competitive season in the spring of 2018. Aughney, a native of Bozeman, Mont., comes to OLLU after five seasons as head baseball coach at Harlingen High School, where he also taught business. His teams made three trips to the UIL State Playoffs and accumulated an overall record of 73-64. In his first year there, he was named Valley Morning Star Coach of the Year.
