OLLU science and math faculty hosting eclipse viewing on Aug. 21

The OLLU community is invited to an eclipse viewing hosted by the faculty from the OLLU mathematics and sciences department, on Monday, Aug. 21, in St. Anthony’s Courtyard.

On Monday afternoon, a solar eclipse will be seen throughout North America. Although Texas is not in the path of totality (where the moon will completely eclipse the sun), there will be approximately 61 percent sun coverage. Faculty will provide several modes to safely view the eclipse safely including solar eclipse goggles and a telescope with a solar filter.

The eclipse will begin at 11:40 a.m. with maximum coverage occurring at approximately 1:09 p.m. The eclipse will end around 2:38 p.m.
