The OLLU women’s basketball team has released its 2017-2018 schedule. This year, the Saints will compete for its sixth Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) title in a row.
The Saints have 14 home games on the calendar and 17 away competitions. They will play each of their 10 RRAC opponents twice – once at home and away. Competing in the RRAC are Huston-Tillotson University, Jarvis Christian College, Langston University, LSU-Alexandria, LSU-Shreveport, Paul Quinn College, University of the Southwest, University of St. Thomas, Texas College and Wiley College.
Head Coach Christopher Minner, returning for his 10th season, said, “We have one of the hardest schedules in the NAIA. We will be challenged every game, which will make us better. I believe our tough preseason is what keeps us winning championships and is why we receive national recognition. I’m not sure how many preseason games we will win, but each game will make us better. We are playing top teams on the road all preseason as well as hosting the defending national champion. It makes no sense to play weak teams that do not make anyone better. It takes mental toughness and courage to play this schedule and these are the same traits that are needed to win championships.” Read full article at ollusaintsathletics.com.
