Softball wins one of three against LSU-Alexandria

The OLLU softball team won one of three games against LSU-Alexandria (LSUA) over spring break, 2-9, 4-1 and 1-2. The Saints move to 11-3 in the Red River Athletic Conference and 14-6 overall, while LSUA moves to 11-7 overall and 4-1 in conference. The Saints received 80 votes in the 2018 NAIA Softball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll No. 1 that was released March 13. It was the most votes the Saints have received since April 21, 2015, when they received 88 votes. The Saints have never been ranked in the Top 25 of the poll. The Generals started the season ranked 20th in the Poll but have since dropped out and received no votes in the latest poll. In addition, the Saints have been elevated to the top of the conference poll ahead of LSUA, Huston-Tillotson University, the University of Houston-Victoria, Langston University, Texas A&M University – Texarkana, the University of the Southwest, Jarvis Christian College and Texas College. The Saints play the third game against Huston-Tillotson University that was postponed earlier in the season on March 27 in Austin.
