News from ITS department

The following is news and information from the ITS department for faculty, staff and students:

New Technology system status site

ITS has developed a new site for OLLU community members to keep up to date on the current and future events impacting OLLU technology systems. This new site provides a quick and easy way for students, faculty and staff to identify service outage events that may affect them now or in the future.

This new feature is located on the ITS News and Information site in SharePoint, part of OLLU’s Office 365 system. The ITS info site can be accessed at http://itsinfo.ollusa.edu.

The System Status page can be accessed at  https://ollusa.sharepoint.com/sites/ITSNewsandInformation/SitePages/System-Status-Information.aspx.

Blackboard Ending BB Messenger Support

Blackboard has ended support for its BB Messenger application. OLLU faculty who have used messenger in the past to have online chat sessions with their students can use Skype for Business instead. Skype for Business, part of OLLU’s Microsoft Office 365 system, is available to all active faculty, staff and students. There are desktop, mobile and browser versions available.

ITS staff will be offering a session on using Skype for Business during the upcoming Provost Professional Development Days. Departments and offices may schedule additional training if desired. Contact Raquel Moncado for more information.
